Image
Free MLB.TV + The Athletic Subscription It's a great time to be a T-Mobile customer! In addition to the free MLB.TV promo that's been running for years now, T-Mobile announced today that current customers will also be eligible for a free 1-year subscription to The Athletic . That it is quite the perk and has me a little jealous as a Verizon customer. Because of the merger with T-Mobile, Sprint customers are also eligible for both promotions.  The perk goes live on Tuesday, July 21 and you'll have 2 weeks to redeem. More info here . Baseball is coming back?

According to these tweets by Jeff Passan and Bob Nightengale, the players and MLB have reached an agreement to play a 60-game season and will report to training camps on July 1 with the season to start July 24! The Major League Baseball Players Association has agreed to report to training camps by July 1 and play a 60-game season, sources tell ESPN, but deal is not finalized yet. One last health-and-safety hurdle to get over and Major League Baseball will be back a week from tomorrow. — Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) June 23, 2020 #MLB and the #MLBPA continue to exchange ideas with the health and safety protocols. There are no major snags. The union already informed MLB that it plans to play, and be in spring training camps by July 1 with a 60-game season starting July 24-26 weekend. — Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) June 23, 2020 One thing is almost certain, and that is the blackouts will be in place for MLB

MLB.TV for 2020 Has Been Announced and the Blackouts Are Still Here

MLB.TV Starts Feb. 28, 2020 If you're like me, you're an every year subscriber to MLB.TV. I just got the email this afternoon announcing the return of the streaming service for 2020. Yearly subscribers will auto-renew on February 28th. The price this season is $121.99. If you only care about having access to your favorite team's games you get a single-team subscription for $93.99. If you are a current student or active military, you can qualify for a 35% discount on these prices . What about the blackouts? Sadly (but not surprisingly) the blackouts appear to still be in place for this season. There have been some rumblings in the past few months that the blackout restrictions could start going away as early as this year, but the email received today explicitly mentions the blackout restriction policy. I will stick with the same plan I've been using for years: using Unlocator to get around the blackouts. For more info on this method you can
